Sharing Information to Strengthen Rural Communities: Lessons Learned from BC Projects 2008 Update
This report is the third volume of Sharing Information to Strengthen Rural Communities: Lessons Learned from BC Projects. In the initial report, published in 2002, 40 community case studies were profiled. In the 2006 update we followed up on 24 projects from both the 2002 report and from the Sharing Lessons Learned Forum held in Prince George in 2003. In addition, 13 new projects not previously catalogued were identified and surveyed.
In this update, we continue to track 2 projects from the original report, 2 from 2006, and 7 new projects not previously catalogued. Each case study includes:
• A summary of the project's objectives,
• Key partnerships and collaborations,
• The project's contributions to community capacity,
• Opportunities and challenges arising from the activity,
• Recommendations for how other communities can follow a similar path, and
• Contact information of who can provide further information.
