Overview of BCRN's Activities

The BC Rural Network dialogues with rural communities and organizations across BC through a series of annual regional forums, regular newsletters, the biennial BC Rural Communities Summit, a listserv, and this website.

Regional Forums: Share experiences and provide information to local rural stakeholders on recent initiatives that assists participants in their work.

Newsletters: Provides  an electronic forum that links rural and remote communities and organizations, and acts as an exchange of information connecting rural interests.

BC Rural Communities Summit: Brings rural residents together for face-to-face networking, and to share lessons learned and examples of what has worked to strengthen rural BC. The BC Rural Network, as a province- wide organization with a mandate to act as a catalyst to build linkages between communities, rural organizations, and policy-makers who work on issues of importance to rural and remote communities in British Columbia, assumes responsibility for choosing host communities for this biennial event, and partners with the host communities to hold the Summit. The Annual General Meeting of the BC Rural Network is also held in conjunction with the Summit.

Website: Enhances communication of rural issues among stakeholders, between stakeholders and government, and provides information regarding the needs of rural communities.
